Entertaining by Martha Stewart (1982)

Entertaining by Martha Stewart

Although Entertaining was written over 30 years ago, the recipes and ideas never seem to go out of style.  This is an excellent reference book that I still use today.  I have adapted the French Bread recipe on my site and it is an everyday favorite.  It makes 2 large braids or 36 rolls and freezes very well.  It is also delicious toasted.

If you have some time on your hands the Iced Sugar Cookies are delicious and fun to make during the holidays.  To make it easier I skip the frosting and use colored sugar and nonpareils (sprinkles).  They  also come in handy if you are having kids help.

If you have ripe bananas try the Banana Bread.  It is very moist and easy to make.
