Measuring Bread Dough

by Leave a Comment

Dough Rising Container

Most bread recipes call for putting the dough in a large bowl and letting it rise until doubled.  But how do you know when it’s doubled?  I solved that problem by using  4-quart round storage containers.  The containers are clearly marked in quart intervals, so you know exactly when the dough has doubled — no guess work involved.  The dough comes out easily and the containers are easy to clean.  If making a double recipe of bread you can also purchase a 6-quart container.
