Baking Bread on Stone

by Leave a Comment

Bread On Stone TipWhen making free-form loaves of bread try baking them directly on a pizza stone. Shape and let loaves rise on parchment paper. While bread is rising preheat oven for at least 30 minutes with the stone inside. When ready to bake bread, place parchment directly on stone.  Your bread will have a nice brown crust and cleanup will be a breeze.  If you are making bread in loaf pans, you can place the pans directly on the stone and the bottom will come out crusty rather than soft.
