When a recipe calls for buttermilk and you don’t have any on hand just make it. To make buttermilk add 1 tablespoon vinegar (I use Bragg Organic Apple Cider Vinegar) to 1 cup milk and stir. It will thicken slightly and may appear curdled which is fine. This will also work with non dairy milks including almond, soy, rice and flax.
Wow! What a great tip! That one is definitely a keeper – Thanks Maureen – keep them coming 🙂
