Buttermilk Substitute

by 1 Comment

Buttermilk

When a recipe calls for buttermilk and you don’t have any on hand just make it. To make buttermilk  add 1 tablespoon vinegar (I use Bragg Organic Apple Cider Vinegar) to 1 cup milk and stir.  It will thicken slightly and may appear curdled which is fine.  This will also work with non dairy milks including almond, soy, rice and flax.
